Grants to Local Archives
Archives Development Program Direct Grants *Application Deadline Oct. 23, 2014* Beginning in the fiscal year 2014-2015, $95,500 has been made available for grants up to $10,000 for improvements to local archives. In addition to county and municipal archives, eligibility for these grants has been extended to museums, libraries, historical societies, non-profit organizations, religious archives, colleges and universities and other repositories of historical records in Tennessee. There are two types of guidelines and applications below, one for local government archives and one for non-government archives. Select the guidelines and application that are appropriate for your institution or organization. *Direct Grants to Local Government Archives
*Direct Grants to Non-Government Archives Open to Tennessee museums, libraries, historical societies, non-profit organizations, religious archives, colleges and universities, and other repositories of historical records for the acquisition of archival supplies, devices, furnishings or services that directly help to salvage, restore, preserve or improve access to significant historical archival collections held within the state of Tennessee.
State and National Archival Partnership (SNAP) Grants *Application Deadline Nov. 14, 2014* Open to any organization within Tennessee to preserve and provide access to Tennessee’s historical records, to educate and train records custodians, and to support archival program development and enhancement.
