AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 36-3-604 and Section 36-3-605, relative to orders of protection.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 36-3-604(b)(1), is amended by deleting the words, figures and symbols "2. That a hearing in this cause be set for within ten (10) days pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, § 36-3-605," and by substituting instead the following:

2. That a hearing in this cause be set for within fifteen (15) days pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, § 36-3-605,

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 36-3-605(b), is amended by deleting the words, figures and symbols "Within ten (10) days of service of such order on the respondent" and by substituting instead the following:

Within fifteen (15) days of service of such order on the respondent

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
