AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 11, Chapter 3, relative to discounts for state employees on camping fees at state parks.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 11, Chapter 3, Part 1Error! Bookmark not defined., is amended by adding the following as a new, appropriately designated section:

(a) There shall be provided for employees of the State of Tennessee a program whereby state employees may obtain a fifty percent (50%) discount on camping fees charged at all parks within the Tennessee state park system. Such fifty percent (50%) discount shall be valid throughout the calendar year.

(b) Satisfactory proof of state employment shall include a state identification card or badge or letter, certificate or other document from the Department of Personnel or personnel office of the state entity by which the applicant is employed attesting to the fact the applicant is employed by the State of Tennessee.

(c) The Department of Environment and Conservation, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Finance and Administration, is hereby authorized and directed to devise and furnish free of charge applications requiring satisfactory proof of state employment by program participants, to issue complimentary courtesy cards or provide such other means as may be appropriate to identify approved participants, and to promulgate such other rules and regulations as may be reasonably necessary and incidental to the efficient administration of such program.

(d) The provisions of this act shall not apply to any member of the General Assembly or to the spouse of any member of the General Assembly.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1998, the public welfare requiring it.
