AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-4-115, relative to the authority of certain boards to administer oaths and issue subpoenas under certain circumstances.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-4-115, is amended by adding the following language as a new, appropriately designated subsection:

( ) An elected officer of the board, and a hearing officer, arbitrator or mediator, if any, has the authority to administer oaths to witnesses, and upon probable cause being established, issue subpoenas for the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents and records.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
