AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-6-207, relative to the licensure of the practice of medicine or surgery.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-6-207(a)(2), is amended by adding the following language as a new subdivision (G):

(G)(i) Evidence of satisfactory completion of (i) a one-year training program approved by the American Medical Association or its extant accreditation program for medical education, or its successor; and (ii) a two-year clinical fellowship approved by the American Medical Association or the appropriate specialty or sub-specialty board in the United States; and (iii) evidence of holding a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in three (3) or more states in the United States shall also meet the requirements set forth in subdivision (a)(2)(F).

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming law, the public welfare requiring it.

SECTION 3. The provisions of this act shall automatically repeal and be of no further force and effect on December 1, 1998.
