AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapters 1 through 12 and Chapter 50, relative to educational finances, programs and personnel.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-3-1210, is amended by redesignating the existing language as subsection (a) and adding the following language as subsection (b):

(b) The State designates the authority to be the State Education Agency for purposes of allocation of qualified zone academy bonds, school modernization bonds, or any other non-grant federal financing programs intended to have statewide application for primary and secondary education. The authority may serve as the coordinator and administrator of such programs, establishing the terms and provisions of the programs.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
