AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 70, Chapter 2, Part 2, relative to wildlife resources agency sport firing ranges.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 70, Chapter 2, Part 2 is amended by adding the following as a new section to be appropriately designated:

Section _______. The Wildlife Resources Commission is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations establishing procedures and guidelines for the operation of wildlife resources agency sport firing ranges and establishing fees for use by the general public. The Wildlife Resources Agency is authorized to contract for the operation and maintenance of the facilities. Monies derived from the fees shall be deposited in the wildlife resources fund. The fee provisions of this section do not apply to outdoor sport firing ranges in operation prior to July 1, 1998.

SECTION 2. If any provision of this act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to that end the provisions of this act are declared to be severable.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
