AN ACT to amend Chapter 225 of the Public Acts of 1959 and Chapter 237 of the Public Acts of 1977, and any other acts amendatory thereto, relative to the by laws of the Citizens Gas Utility District of Scott and Morgan Counties.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Chapter 225 of the Public Acts of 1959, as amended by Chapter 237 of the Public Acts of 1977, and any other acts amendatory thereto, is amended in Section 2 by adding the following new language:

Notwithstanding any provision of the law or a by law to the contrary, the by laws, promulgated by the Board of Trustees of the Citizens Gas Utility District and ratified by the members pursuant to the provisions of this section, may be amended, altered or repealed by a four-fifths (4/5) affirmative vote of the membership of the Board of Trustees voting on such amendment, alteration or repeal at two (2) consecutive monthly meetings of such board.

The Board of Trustees shall publish in a newspaper of general circulation in Scott and Morgan Counties the dates of the two (2) consecutive monthly meetings of the Board on which the Board will consider and vote on such amendment, alteration or repeal of the by laws.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
