Substituted for: House Bill No. 1442

AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 54, Chapter 10, Part 1, relative to classification of roads and county road reports.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 54-10-103, is amended by deleting subsection (b) in its entirety and by substituting instead the following:

(b) Before the county legislative body may classify a road as provided herein, the chief administrative officer of the county highway department shall submit a listing of all county roads to the county legislative body. The listing shall include a summary of all changes from the road listing submitted the previous year. Such summary shall provide the road name, date the change was approved by the county legislative body and the reason for the change (including but not limited to opening, closing, reduction or extension in length, or correction of error). The chief administrative officer of the county highway department shall also include recommendations for classifying the roads.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
