AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 16-2-506, to create Division 7 of the Circuit Court of the Twentieth Judicial District and to provide for a judge to serve such court.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 16-2-506, is amended by deleting the fourth and fifth sentences of subsection (20)(A) and by substituting instead the following:

In 1998, the qualified voters of the Twentieth Judicial District shall elect an additional Circuit Court Judge in accordance with the provisions § 16-2-505 to serve as Judge of Division 7 of the Circuit Court of such District. In addition to the jurisdiction of a Circuit Court Judge, the Judge of Division 7 shall have concurrent chancery court jurisdiction and exclusive jurisdiction over the probate of wills and the administration of estates, including the estates of decedents and of wards under guardianships and conservatorships;

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
