AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-4-120, relative to the use of cable snare traps.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-4-120(a)(1), is amended by deleting subdivision (F) in its entirety and by substituting instead the following:

(F)(i) Except as provided in subdivision (ii), the use of cable snare traps, regardless of the diameter, is unlawful in any county located in the eastern grand division as defined in 4-1-202.

(ii) The provisions of this subdivision shall not apply to Blount County or to Marion County.

The provisions of this subdivision shall also not apply in counties having a population, according to the 1990 Federal Census or any subsequent Federal Census of:

The provisions of this subdivision shall also not apply in counties having a population, according to the 1990 Federal Census or any subsequent Federal Census of:

The provisions of this subdivision shall also not apply in any county having a population of not less than three hundred thirty-five thousand (335,000) nor more than three hundred thirty-six thousand (336,000) according to the 1990 Federal Census or any subsequent Federal Census.

The provisions of this subdivision shall also not apply to any county having a population of not less than sixty-eight thousand one hundred (68,100) nor more than sixty-eight thousand four hundred (68,400) according to the 1990 Federal Census or any subsequent Federal Census.

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-4-120, is amended by deleting subsection (b) in its entirety.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
