AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 56, relative to insurance.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 56, Chapter 7, Part 11, is amended by adding the following new section:

For the purposes of motor vehicle coverage under this part for policies issued on or after July 1, 1997, a foreign exchange student shall be considered for coverage as a natural child of the adult under whose policy such child would be covered, if the adult provides the insurer with name, date of birth, and driver license number of the student.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1,1997, the public welfare requiring it.
