Substituted for: House Bill No. 394

AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 40, Chapter 24, relative to the collection of fines, costs and litigation taxes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-24-105(c), is amended by adding between the words "collect," and "fines" in the second sentence the following language:

"or establish an in-house collection procedure to collect".

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-24-105(c), is amended by adding after the word "collection" in the fifth sentence the language "or if an in-house collection procedure is established, the proceeds shall be treated as other fees of the office".

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
