AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 66-29-151 relative to the programs administered by the Department of Health relative to improvement of access to health care.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 66-29-151(b) is amended by deleting the words in the first sentence after the word "designed" in line 2 and before the words "in areas of the state" in lines 3 and 4 and substituting therefor the words "to enhance health access or by identifying appropriate practitioners of health care to provide services or locate practices".

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 66-29-151(b) is further amended by deleting the words "chair of each board for the community services agencies" in the second sentence and substituting therefor the words "regional health council designated by the Department of Health"

SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 66-29-151(b) is further amended by deleting the words "chairs of the boards of the community services agencies" at the end of the third sentence and substituting therefor the words "regional health council".

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect immediately upon passage, the public welfare requiring it.
