It has been said, "He who has no fools, knaves, or beggars in his family was begot by a flash of lightning" (English Proverb). Let’s face it, we all have amazing, interesting, and somewhat kooky family members (not that we would ever fall into the latter category)! This exhibit will teach you all the skills you’ll need to investigate the variety of fascinating folks in your family tree; venturing down every shaky branch and turning every leaf for the thrill of a lifetime.

This exhibit will show you how to get started on your genealogy and how to preserve items from your family’s past for future generations. You will also learn how to combine new resources, such as DNA and the internet, with traditional methods to assist your research. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced tree climber, you will benefit from this exhibit.
